Evan's Senior Pictures

As most parents know, life gets crazy when school starts and even crazier when sports and activities get going. I've had a great time taking lots of pictures recently, but am far behind in getting them posted. Although I did get all of Evan's pictures posted on my website before I posted this sneak peak entry on my blog.

I should call this session "Evan Round 1" as well. We didn't have much time, and I wasn't happy with the position of the sun at the places we wanted to go. So we'll be doing another session soon. Which I am looking forward to because Evan is such a great guy to hang out with! He has such an outgoing personality, and is involved in many things. He did a great job in the senior lip sync on Thursday night (I can't wait to see my crazy pictures!), and he also did a great job on his saxophone solo at the football game last night. (Go Cougars--we won the game)!

We also love Evan's family. We have known them for quite a few years since my step-daughter went to school with Evan's older sister. I also had the pleasure of taking Evan's older brother's senior pictures last year. This family has also been blessed with amazing good-looks!

Ali Senior Collage

Here's one more to go with Ali's senior pictures..

Ali's Senior Pictures -- Round 1

The anticipation of taking my daughter's senior pictures has been exciting and scary. When she was finally ready to do it, she only gave me two days' notice that she would be available, so I didn't have too much time to think about it. I woke up very early Saturday morning "all a-twitter" as my husband says. So I prayed about our time together and asked the Lord to bless us with a fun shoot as well as great pictures. Then as I really thought about "my daughter's senior pictures", it really hit me that she is a senior (duh!) and that she'll be leaving soon. I am very excited about her future and what God has planned for her, but it still makes me cry anyway. By the grace of God, she is an amazing young woman, and we are very proud of her!

Ali has already agreed to do another shoot later this fall, and I'm sure I can get one more done in the spring. So enjoy this sneak peak at "round one". All pictures will be on my website soon.

Best Friends

I took Kayla's senior pictures last year and had a blast! A friend was visiting from out of town, so Kayla brought her along, and we had even more fun! Not only are these young ladies beautiful and intelligent, but they are also creative and adventurous. Of course, the mom in me came out when they jumped on the train. My first thought was "what do I tell their moms if something happens", and my second thought was "well this will make a fun picture, and besides, the train can't move very quickly from a dead stop". I love the bright colors and the way the sun was shining on the grass. I also love the scenery at this location. Lots of character to choose from! Enjoy!

Vinland Fair

Mark your calendar next year for the Vinland Fair the second week in August (Thurs-Sun). Our good friends, Todd and Paige, invited us to go. This is the second year that my husband and I have gone with them, and I just love it! It reminds me of a simple way of life and makes me happy. The hot air balloon fest is amazing to watch. We went on Saturday morning, and only one balloon was able to take off because of the weather. We missed the excitement Friday and Saturday evenings when about six balloons took off. I hear that it was a photographer's dream event.

I did have lots of other fun things to take pictures of though. I especially like the pictures of my husband buying me homemade pie for only $1.50. I brought the red bike to fair with me and was hoping to find a young boy to take pictures on it--maybe next year. It also makes me happy to see the old blue and white camper. I took that picture through a screen, which really makes it cool.

My friend, Paige, is a great baker and even won a blue ribbon for one of her entries. She and her mom have a friendly competition going. Her dad also won a blue ribbon for pears that he grew. Her dad made the jayhawk scarescrow, which was really good as well.

The thing that I really like about the fair is watching Paige get really excited about it! I suggested that we have a women's retreat at the fair next year so that I can go all four days.

Check back soon because I have a lot more fun pictures to share with you.

Nick's Senior Pictures In Studio

Check out a few of Nick's senior pictures that I took in the studio. (I took his sister's senior picture last year as well as family pictures. I just love their family!) Nick excels at sports, academics, personality, etc. It was too hot to do outside shots, so we'll be scheduling that whenever we can work it in with football. I can't wait to find a cool location to do another shoot!
Besides having a great time during the shoot, I've been having lots of fun with my new grunge software on his pictures too. You can see the rest of his pictures on my website soon.

Drill Team Senior Pictures

Wow! What a fun photo shoot! I took the individual and group pictures for both drill teams a week ago Sunday night when it was about 100 degrees outside. The girls did very well, but the seniors asked to postpone the senior pictures to another time. I am so glad that we did! We were able to go to some fun locations on a cooler evening and got some amazing shots. The girls are very photogenic and had a great time! Check out the SMNW Fall Sports program for the Haley Photography ad on the back inside cover and you'll find one of the above pictures. Which is your favorite?
