Max and Sommer

I had the priviledge of taking Max and Sommer's pictures yesterday for Christmas cards. They are such cool young adults! I had a great time with them and their mom.

I designed a square Christmas card using some of their favorite pictures. The top picture is the front of the card, then the next picture is the inside left, then inside right, and back. There are so many pictures that I like that I wish I would have had room for more. Any text can printed or the cards can be blank for a hand-written note (wishful thinking).

Here's the slideshow. Enjoy!

Kelsey's Senior Pictures Round 2

I think that Kelsey would probably argue that we took her "round 2" pictures on the coldest day of the fall. It was very windy, which made for cool shots of her dance costume and her hair, but it was cold! We did the first round of Kelsey's pictures last month, and she decided that she wanted dance pictures as well. So I had a great time with Kelsey doing pictures twice! She is a great girl and an amazing dancer. She made it all look so easy. Enjoy the sneak peak!

Connor's Senior Pictures

I had the priviledge of taking Connor's senior pictures recently. I think we chose the coldest day that we've had this fall. But Connor took it like a man, and actually did very well. His mom and I were a bit chilly though.
Connor is one of those unusual guys that has a very natural smile on command. I got some cool shots at the park, then Connor got some cool shots at the basketball hoops, and then we went to my favorite rail road track. I don't think he missed any of his shots. I'll be anxious to see him play at SMNW this winter.
Enjoy the sneak peak! I'll have the rest of the pictures and a slideshow up on my website soon.

Ethan's Senior Pictures

I had the priviledge of taking Ethan's pictures last weekend and am finally getting his sneak peak posted. I had a great time with Ethan and his mom! We went to some fun places, including his house. I really enjoyed going to the football stadium. It seems so big when you are down on the field. (Ethan's team is having a great season, but the way).
I love studying boys and seeing the things that they do that girls don't do. Girls would not ask to climb on top of their truck to take pictures. Ethan had other good ideas of taking pictures on the track since he'll be running track in the spring. We'll do more pictures in the spring after track season starts.

Enjoy the sneak peak and look for a slideshow by next week.

Tyler's Senior Pictures

I had the priviledge of taking Tyler's senior pictures last weekend. It's fun getting to know these guys and coming up with crazy things to say to get them to laugh. It's also fun to see the things these guys like to have with them. We had to keep the sunglasses and long key lanyard in some pictures because Tyler wears them all the time.
I had a great time with Tyler and his mom. We went to some fun places and even saw this cool orange truck along the way. (I'm all about school spirit and the black & orange school colors). Tyler's sister even joined us for a few pictures. She did an amazing cheerleading jump with Tyler in the background. I think that would make a great Christmas card! I asked them to switch places so that Tyler could do the same jump, but he didn't go for it.
Enjoy the sneak peak!

SMNW Homecoming

I love homecoming! I love the parade, the assembly, the football game, the king and queen crownings, and the dance. My husband commented on the "500" homecoming activities that we went to during one week. Of course, that was a slight exaggeration.
I love to take pictures of the girls in their pretty dresses and the guys in their suits. I especially enjoyed a photo shoot that I got to do with the girls who were nominated for the homecoming court. It was so much fun!
I'm not real big on the "king" and "queen" idea because any of the kids nominated would have made a great king or queen. The crowns did made for some interesting pictures though.

Grace's Senior Pictures

Wow--I can't believe it's Nov 1 already! I have been so busy with photography in Oct that I've been slacking off on my blog. I had the priviledge of taking Grace's senior pictures a few weeks ago in Westin. I just love Grace and her mom. We had a great time! Her mom's job was to make sure we didn't get run over while I was laying in the street taking pictures.
There are so many pictures of Grace that I love. She is just as beautiful on the inside as on the outside. We especially had fun with the motorcycles. An Irish festival was going on in Westin, so there were a bunch of motorcycles parked right in front of a building that I wanted to use. One of the owners came up to us and asked if we wanted to do some modeling on a $30k motorcycle. Of course I was scared to touch it, but he said it was ok for Grace to sit on his Harley. He made us laugh, and we got some very unique pictures.
Grace had such a good time that she wrote me a very sweet note thanking me for taking her pictures. She also said I was a cool photographer. (I'll be sure to show that to my teenagers). I will keep that note forever.
I also created a slideshow of Grace's pictures. You can check it out at grace.haleyphotography.net. You can see other senior slideshows on the Slideshow tab of my website www.haleyphotography.com.

Courtney's Senior Pictures

I had the priviledge of taking Courtney's senior pictures this weekend. She wanted to go to the Westin Red Barn Farm and downtown Westin, which ended up being great. Her mom and sister came with us too. We had a lot of fun!
Courtney plays volleyball and softball, so we did a few uniform and letterjacket pictures. She is also very involved in Younglife, so we got to have some cool conversations about that and the power of prayer. She is a wonderful young woman! And check out her eyes--she is so pretty too!
Check out my website for a slideshow and the rest of the pictures soon. Enjoy the sneak peak!

Wedding at The Hope Center

This past Saturday, I had the priviledge of shooting a wedding with Jenae Winebrenner of www.imijfoto.com. (You should check out her amazing photos). The wedding was held at The Hope Center, which is a beautiful old church near downtown KCMO. The bride was exceptionally beautiful, had an amazing smile, and was what I would call "the perfect bride". Of course, her husband was equally charming. The bridesmaids and the women in the groom's family were dressed in the most beautiful saris. I loved all the gorgeous colors! They added a "sari ceremony" to the Christian wedding ceremony that was so touching. Of course, the sparklers used for the send off were lots of fun! It was such a lovely day!
Did I tell you how much I love to shoot weddings?

Wedding at The Elms

I had the priviledge of shooting a wedding with my friend, Arissa, this past weekend. We had a great time shooting together. Arissa shot this couple's engagement and newborn pictures, and now the beautiful wedding at Elms. You can check out Arissa's pictures on her website www.siteskins.com/arissas.

This couple was so much fun to shoot! They are so much in love, and so easy going. I don't usually cry at weddings that I'm shooting, but this was a tear-jerker. Just watching them look at each other was so wonderful. The groom even scoped out some places for us to take pictures on the Elms property. I love that!

The Elms is a beautiful setting for a wedding and reception. It was a wonderful day, but quite warm for the bride in her beautiful (but thick and heavy) dress and the guys in their tuxes. There were also more spiders than we prefer while taking pictures, but you have to expect that outside in the woods.

I loved the ring bearer's bare feet and the little flower girl in her gorgeous wagon. They were too cute. It was just a perfect day!
